Thank you Bruce. So true. People continue to ask, "What do you need?" We need committed people with a desire to invest in the south end of Seneca County. We need our local, state and federal partners to make a true commitment to Ovid, after all, they have watched us (and to some degree participated in) lose thousands of jobs and families. They have squandered opportunities to reinvest in those properties left abandoned by their decisions. We cannot sustain another loss and the domino effect that goes with it. Allison and I were devastated when we heard the news about the fire and worried about the impact of the fire not just on the tenants and workers directly affected but by the region as a whole. Hopefully they can rebuild relatively quickly while still retaining the local nature and charm of such a beautiful village.

Thank you. That was beautifully said.

I live 2 blocks away and could see the fire from my back yard (and took many photos and videos from my yard and from way too close to the fire).

It is heartbreaking, but this small community will work beyond the 2 weeks to revive the heart of Ovid together and with help from our friends around us.
