Grape vines are amazing plants. Once they are established they are very hard to kill (excluding gophers, deer, rabbits, phylloxera, spotted lantern flies, etc). Imagine humans having 2 backup arms or 2 backup hearts.

I am glad you still have enough pending fruit for most varieties for this vintage (I have seen reports from a few wineries that got got hit with 75% loss of primary AND secondary buds this year). The extra Cab Franc that is coming into its first fruiting year will help fill the gap as well. I hope you have extra stores of wine from the past two years to help keep things running.

I am keeping my fingers crossed that the summer is a good one and that we made it through the worst of it.

I'm glad to hear the vines are recovering for the most part and you'll have plenty of fruit for this vintage.
